Roman Webber MMA Fighter
I have been involved in martial arts for about a year, I really enjoy the sport and like the fighting especially in the octagon cage.
Being a Professional MMA fighter takes up most of my time, the sport is not for the faint hearted as it's full on and as real as it gets.
It's a multi dimensional sport in which the fighter has to be strong, flexible, fast, fit and able to carry out several training routines.
My back ground is Kick boxing, Brazilian jujitsu and wrestling. I think they are the most important forms of martial arts related to cage fighting,
covering all the dimensions of the fight game.
The times I spend in gyms is important as I have to get the best out of my body, I keep my body running by healthy ways of nutrition and
supplementation. This is done with a diet to suite my training regime. Because I train up to 9 times a week my body needs a lot of vitamins, proteins and the right amount of carbohydrates.
My daily Diet plan:
9am - 5 scrambled eggs with 2 slices of toast, beans and cup of lemon or mint tea.
1-2pm - chicken breast, half pack of cooked rice with green vegetables, olives and a small salad and pint of water.
4-5pm - chicken breast, half pack of cooked rice with green vegetables, olives and a small salad and pint of water
8-9pm - chicken breast with a small salad and 2 pints of water.
I drink SportSense Whey protein shake after a training session and I take vitamin C twice a day, cod liver oil tablet 4 times per day and glucosamine tablet 4 times per day.
This plan helps me maintain my body weight between 91-93 Kg as I am a light heavy weight fighter.
Typical training week, however always changing:
Monday: pad/bag work, body conditioning, cardio
Tuesday: sparring/kick boxing
Wednesday: body conditioning/cardio, sparring
Thursday: light cardio, lock and holds/sparring
Friday: cardio, running/sprinting, weights/strength work
Saturday: bag/pad work, body conditioning
Sunday: day off
Many thanks to Mark and Martin for their valuable advice on nutrition and supplements
